I'm trying to decide what to do with this...current options I'm looking at are:
- Glendronach 21 Parliament
- Glendronach 19 Madeira Cask (haven't tried either before but like the 15 and 18)
- Highland Park Sigurd
- Laphroaig 18
- Balblair 90
- Something else...
Any suggestions? |

Thanks both, I've not tried anything from Springbank before, so that could be an option. I do have a thing for Madeira in general which is why I was looking at the Glendronach (that plus it looks like it's getting pretty hard to get hold of). Speaking of which I've actually just found a 15 Revival for £120 delivered...which is tempting...
Other than that, I do have the Balvenie 21 Portwood on order, although as mentioned in the Bargains forum I'm not convinced it'll ever arrive!
I do tend to go for stronger-flavoured spirits owing to having no sense of smell and diminished taste, my most recent other purchases have been:
- Laphroaig PX
- Glenfiddich 19 Madeira
- HP 18
- Laphroaig Cairdeas 2016 (Madeira cask...couldn't resist) |

Best bang for your buck under £100. Easy.
For quality, brilliantness, and a fantastic sherry bomb Balvenie 15 Single Cask.
And you'll have change too! |

One option to bear in mind is that the dronach 18yo is currently a 21yo minimum due to their little closure, so your getting a similar whisky in the 18.....other than the PX cask in with the 21.
If you want sherry, class and a big whallop The Whisky Exchange have an exclusive Glenfarclas (official bottling). It's a 15year old, which we all know is top drawer, but released at 103 proof. I challenge you to not smell and taste that bad boy.
......now we're talking about it, I've just put it on my Xmas list. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Don't overlook the Highland Park Sigurd it is outstanding, it is currently in Amazon for £95.99 which is a good price as other retailers are selling it at £135 _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| I am drinking the Laphroaig 18 tonight, I can highly recommend it. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the whiskies on your list. |

Maybe getting a bit pricey now, but still within budget, the Balvenie Single Barrel 15yo (bourbon) is fantastic stuff. Or if a sherry bomb is more your thing, I'd suggest a Glendronach Single Cask PX if you can find one
If you'd prefer to pick up 2 or 3 bottles for your money then the Kilkerran 12 is certainly worth a look or a Springbank 12yo Cask Strength.
I find it's always a dilemma - do you go for one more expensive bottle or 2 or 3 more affordable ones?? |
