Hi

have just been gifted a bottle of dingle gold that my uncle was gifted 12 / 15 months ago for his 60th (whisky isn't his thing thankfully!), from everything I have found online this isn't due for release until this year, anyone have any information on this run?

I would guess what you have has been bottled under the Dingle Gold label but wasn't produced at the Dingle distillery as the distillery only started producing whiskey in the November 2012. As your uncle received the bottle 12 / 15 months ago then it could not have been produced at the Dingle distillery but simply bottled under their label probably to raise funds while waiting for maturing stock coming of age.

Looking around there seems to be a no age statement and a 8 year old Dingle blended whiskey, the NAS was apparently aged for no less than four years. and is available in whiskey shops for around â‚¬43.

I don't know if them plan to continue to bottle blended whisky or start bottling single malt or indeed pot still whiskey if that is what they produce.
