As the title says really!

My friend and I recently completed a tour of every league football ground in Scotland and we have been discussing the possibility of visiting every single malt whisky distillery in our fair land. We're aware of the massive financial costs and time required to visit over 100 distilleries so it may just be a pipe dream at the moment, however I'm very intrigued if anyone has ever accomplished this and how did they find it - i.e. issues encountered, travel arrangements. Struggling to find anything on the internet.

Additionally, "visiting" could be watered down to merely being on or near the premises as obviously not every distillery would provide a guided tour.

Any help very much welcome!

Some distilleries in Speyside which are not normally open to the public open their doors during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, perhaps it would be worth planning the Speyside part of your tour during the festival.

If this is for charity then I think you would find every distillery might just allow you on .. I'm sure if your doing this all in one go then I'd poss drive, if at least two drivers take it in turns each day then this would be very possible.. good luck 👍

Fortunately I live in the speyside region so making a dash around usually inaccessible distilleries during the whisky festival may be a good idea to tick them off the list.

Another idea we're playing with is to do it in stages. Speyside one month. West coast the next and so on... That sounds like a more manageable option.

Tragically we've also just realised that samples will be off the agenda if at least one of us is driving Mad

Take empty sample bottles with you to collect samples for the driver.

That is an excellent idea!

My son and I did a Scotch tour from the States. Several distilleries gave us small bottles to take home. We gave them to our driver.

When is the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival?
