We should know in the next couple of weeks unless someone's got a head's up but I'm very curious about and interested in what he selected. What are some whiskies you think are in the running? _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

who knows what goes on inside that guys head. No doubt something to stir up a bit of gossip, rather than quality.
....and no doubt, whatever it is, it will sell out immediately (if still avaliable) and then appear on auction sides at 'n' times it's original value.

| He may name a Scottish whisky for a change and he does have a liking for the Glenmorangie company so I would make a guess at Ardbeg 21 |

Pete, that's an interesting suggestion. I haven't had the opportunity to try Ardbeg 21 but have heard some very good things about it.
I wonder about the possibility of a choice of a Scottish single grain whisky, a category that seems to be gleaning more and more attention these days. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

The Guy is a crack pot.
He named CR northern harvest Rye best in show last year.
So this year.....I bet it's Johnnie Walker Red _________________ If Jack Bauer was gay, his name would be Chuck Norris |

I take it that statement was filled with sarcasm?
and his aim is to sell books, each year, so to do that he needs people to go mad talking about what he may be talking about, such as what we are doing right now _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Nice if it was North British (active) or Caledonian (closed), as my wife grew up within a 'stone's throw' of both.
Or one of the recent Garnheath bottlings from the long lost Moffat Mill.
Really, any old aged grain would be fabulous. |

I was reading his latest bible the other day, some of paranoia is laughable. He though that a rusty nail had fallen in to one of his Glenfarclas Family Casks he was sampling.
Reckon itll be something like an Australian Malt. Lark/Overeem or something. More pressure on the bigger scottish distillers. |

| It will be something far left field... but im hoping something like 21 Ardbeg, family cask etc but i know its false hope... Time will tell. Overeem is a good shout! Possibly another Japanese dram... Anything but Scottish is my guess |

| Its about time he named a Scotch whisky instead of headline grabbing book selling whiskies. for me the Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 3 should be a contender for best whisky of the year. |

| It will not be Scottish.. and definitely won't be ardbeg 21.. he scores Paul John very highly so won't be suprised if it's along those lines.. poss a single cask .. that's my opinion anyway |

Personnally I also loved the Balvenie Tun 1509 batch 3 and the Lagavulin 12y 2016 and they're my Whisky's of the year so who cares we like what we like Right.
