Debating between these two as I haven't tried either and both look quite interesting and available in Ontario. Seeing great reviews on the Glenfiddich DE but don't see a lot of info on the craigellachie 17. Anyone have experience with one or both?
Thanks |

| I do enjoy the Glenfiddich Distillery Edition and have gotten through more than a few bottles, I am sure it wont disappoint if you decide to go that way. |

I can't find a bad review on it! I've had the 12,14, solera 15 and the 18nso this is a logical step
The Craigellachie 13 is growing on me so I'm also intrigued by the 17. Will have to try that too. |

I've tried glenfiddich DE and Graigellachie 19 (Not 17) at the Airport if that helps. At least that's One advantage of having to Travel hey.....
It really depends upon what you prefer. For me, I found the Craigellachie peppery perhaps Even more raw. But I liked it, I found it a refreshing change.
The DE I had was very slightly peppered too but was more fruity but also more boring because it seemed like may of the others I sampled...
I would take the Craigellachie 19 over the DE but my favourite whisky's are usually peated. But I've also had the Solera 15 a few years back and really wasn't impressed so Perhaps it's just me. |

I really enjoy Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Distillery Edition (70cl, 51.0%) as a single malt that delivers the full package. I have not tried the Craigellachie 17 but have a bottle of the 13 year which is a solid dram. However, between these two, I prefer the Distillery Ed. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I went with the Glenfiddich Distillery Edition. So far I like it. Quite warm for 51% but unique for Glenfiddich in this age realm having tried the 12/14/15 solera and 18 previously. I'm interested to see how it unfolds after a while being opened and experimenting with a few drops of water. I can see this one benefing from water to soften the arrival.
Still intrigued by the Craigellachie 17 - it remains on the to buy list . |

Do get the Craigellachie at some point - raw and punchy with nice sherried notes in there and a mix of some fruits which combine together to give a great range of flavours.
I do like the Fiddich DE too - I get some faint hints of smokes which occasionally pop up that I don't get from many other fiddiches in their core range. |

Having the Craigellachie 17 as I reply here. This one is excellent! As it sits in the glass it really starts to unravel. Especially impressed with the nose and palate so far. The finish continues to get better with time in the glass too. Will be interesting after the bottle has been open for a week or two. |
