I have a bottle of this already, I agree William a lovely sherried Macallan. I did buy it for drinking over the Christmas holidays but couldn't resist having a couple of tastes.

Apologies for sounding slightly negative about this bottling, as I have no doubt that it is a delicious Macallan whisky as per usual. However I've just noticed that the bottle has the words "Limited Edition" on the label, yet apparently there are 229,000 bottles of it. Hardly a limited edition!!!!!!

I might have considered buying this along with the No. 1 edition due to its collectability and the fact Macallan always make a great dram, but due to the quantity it's hardly "limited". Even at worldwide Macallan standards.

I have just read Williams review of the new Macallan Edition No 2 and actually thought it was great to see the Macallan reveal the number of bottles available. I just counted and William lists 22 countries where it will be available so not much more than 10,000 per country, which isn't a lot to go around really given the popularity of the Macallan.

I for one am pleased they have released this amount and revealed the numbers available, it may help stop the profiteers/flippers or whatever you want to call them making a fast profit at whisky drinkers expense. Sounds like a good expression of the Macallan and I will be having a bottle or two.

Totally agree James, 10,000 bottles per country on average is quite limited.

Cheers William for your thoughts, sounds worth a try.

I got a bottle during a US trip because I thought it was going to be very hard to find..(original numbers flying around was only 2500 )
Anyway glad I did because from all accounts it's a great whisky, so it's getting opened at Christmas.
