For those who don't remember this one, it was an OB (1296 bottles) back in 2011, which was presented with a Glencairn glass and a water jug..
The expression was a vatting of four sherry casks filled in the 1965, 1965, 1966 & 1969, which had a combined age of 175 years.
If my maths isn't too far off the mark, that makes the youngest cask a 41yo.
Five years after release, this is still available for £350ish.
Does this strike you guys as a bit of a bargain now, given what the Glenfarclas 40yo sells for?

| I saw this in The Vintage House in Soho a couple of weeks back. Lovely bottle, fantastic Colour, lovely presentation. It is cheap for what it is, and it's a very good tasting notes. Go for it, but if you want to save yourself a couple of quid and get an amazing Glenfarclas the get the Family Cask from The Whisky Shop Dufftown. Outstanding Dram. |

I love it how we can read the words "£350ish" and "bargain" in the same sentence when it comes to aged whisky......makes you think really

If I remember correctly there were two editions of 175th anniversary: more expensive one (with glass and jug - white label) and later they released more affordable expression (black label).
I still have two bottles stacked away. |

How true! We start off thinking that £30 for a whisky is a lot, then £40, £50, until we find ourselves trying to justify spending more than the cost of insuring the car on one bottle of liquid because it's got a bit of age and a nice colour. Guilty as charged! |

| In absolute terms, £350 is a lot for a bottle of whisky. But in relative terms, this expression struck me as a potential bargain |

Absolutely, especially as reviews seem to favour the 175th over the 40yo. As we're into the second half of the year it's almost something to justify as an early Christmas present. |

| I can't believe you lot can talk about buying whisky for this price.. You'll never catch me spending that kind of money on a single bottle.. Rediculous ... Going to pour a dram of Glenfarclas 1959 and chuckle at you all 😜 |

| Finally bought this. Well pleased. A small batch 1960s Glenfarclas for original 2011 release price. |

| For anyone wanting this expression, The Vintage House in London has one bottle (£349 as at yesterday). It is also available from Amazon (fulfilled by The Grape Vine). |

| Despite markedly raising its orice on Monday, The Grapevine has now sold also stock. Ditto Whisky Castle. Ditto presumably Vintage House. Sorry if anyone missed out. |
