|

You may recall that back in early 2014 plans were unveiled for a £40 million distillery at the former site for the Jedforest hotel near Jedburgh in the Scottish borders.
The Scottish government has now given the go ahead for the £40 million project which will see 2 distilleries built, Jedhart Distillery and Mossburn Distillery at the former site of the Jedforest hotel.
The project will see two whisky distilleries, a bottling hall, maturation warehouses, offices and a visitor centre constructed, it will create around 50 jobs and should be a huge boost to the Borders both now and in the future.

| This is the first I have heard of Mossburn and Jedhart, the Mossburn distillery will have quite a significant output making it quite a big player in the Scotch whisky world. |

| As easy drinking as the typical Lowland style is, it isn't a style I want often, hopefully they do surprise us as you say William, something with more body and character than you would find in a lowland whisky would be of interest to me. |

| That is quite an output, and a lot of single malt to sell when it has matured but that wont be for some time. Shows great confidence in the future of Scotch malt whisky. |
