Anyone know of any decent ones on the market at the moment? I've tried/had the usual suspects. Bowmore Lamriag 15, Ardbeg Oogy, HP Dark ...

Bit of a dieing art it seems.,,

Have you tried Talisker Amoroso? The peat isn't too heavy as is typical of Talisker. Another option would be Benromach Peated. Although it's not matured in sherry casks there is a Speyside fruity influence. Certainly both very decent drams!

Best IMO are the Lagavulin DE releases. Lagavulin 16 finished in sherry casks.

The Bowmore Laimrig is my favourite but some other that I've liked:

Bowmore 15 Darkest
Bowmore 18
Lagavulin distillers edition (although I found the peat subdued quite a bit vs the regular 16 at the pub I tried it)

Kilchoman Loch Gorm is 100% sherry matured and quite good. I'd avoid Laphroaig triplewood, very below average.

And also thinking outside the box; look into the Benriach heavily peated range, they do a sherry finished one I'm sure, can't remember the name though.

Longrow 18yo too. Heavily peated Springbank with sherry maturation. Batch release and sells out fast.
