|
|
Having updated my bottle collection this weekend, the only thing I did not find was a reasonably priced bottle of Aberlour Abunadh. No problem, I can find it online.
I was just wondering I can get batches 54 up to 57. Does anyone have experience with these batches? I like mine to be as sherry heavy as possible. |

| I can get 54,55,56 or 57 from a retailer. I was just wondering if people could recommend one over the other. |

| To be honest, this variation between batches thing is exaggerated, they're all very similar. If most of us were given two different batches to try and told it's the same whisky, I doubt we'd be able to tell. Of course I'm sure the current batches are different to, say, batch 10, but any differences between each other would be very small. |

| Alexpp although I agree with you in some instances I also disagree.. some batches are extremely different and differences are easy to pick up.. some are as you say extremly close and not many will pick up the subtle changes.. although I have not bought any since batch 52 ( I think) I'd prob be happy with any of the ones released.. |

| I haven't had every batch but have had more than a few and I would agree the batch variation is not huge and that is what makes me keep coming back to it as I know it wont be identical but it will have a profile I know I will enjoy. |

I didn't actually explicitly say what my main point was: that, because the Aberlour state the different batch numbers for the a'bunadh, we expect there to be a certain degree of batch variations where, in reality, there isn't more than in different batches of, say, the Glenfarclas 12 (to pick one at random). |
