I'm away down to Edinburgh for the umpteenth time on a whisky related escapade. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any niche places to visit that I've perhaps missed in the past?
I say niche because I've been to several well-known whisky attractions already; Scotch Whisky Experience, Royal Mile Whiskies. I'm planning on visiting Cadenheads as I've heard great things about some of their bottlings. I also plan to visit the Albanach and Usquebae bars, however I haven't applied for my SMWS membership just yet so a visit to their bar is a no no for now sadly.
If anybody can suggest any other gems I've missed then I'm happy to consider them.
Many thanks!
P.S. The wife is a bit of a gin buff so suggestions for her also welcome! Gin distillery and 56 North bar already on the list. |

| Have you visited The Bow Bar off the Grassmarket in the Old Town, Whiski Bar & Restaurant Royal Mile which has a good selection of whisky and good pub food. |

Also entirely independent | The rosehip just near the black cat aslo has a pretty good selection of whiskies, as does panda and sons. If you want to hop on a Lothian bus 34,35,1 or 44,4, get yourself to the diggers aka atheletic arms in gorgie. Excellent selection of whiskies and a 35cl measure. |

Thanks for the suggestions all.
The Bow bar sounds like my best option after looking at locations. Certainly never knew there were so many great whisky bars in the capital. |
