SMWS set to launch The Vaults Collection with a Rosebank 26 year old and a Macallan 27 year old

As you would expect, the two whiskies from The SMWS treasure trove of single malts will be a little more expensive than there usual outturn of whiskies, in fact they are amongst the most expensive whiskies ever released by the Society, the Rosebank 26 year old ‘In a Perfumed Garden’ will be priced at £875 and The Macallan 27 year old ‘Meeting an old master’ will be priced £980.

I was never overly impressed with Rosebank, an easy drinker lowland dram but not one I would pay big money for.

I saw the Macallan 'in the glass' today. The packaging is very classy. However, at the end of the day, the juice inside is just one of many Macallan single casks bottled by the Society.
Hard to justify a £1k price-tag. But I'm sure that it will sell and find its way to the secondary market. Personally, I'd prefer a proprietary 25yo Sherry.

Keep it. No whisky is worth that amount of money in my opinion.

They've just gone on sale. UK allocation, especially for the Rosebank, very small.
