I have a chance next week to pick up some poit dhubh blended malt, both the 12 and 21 are available. I've read a few good reviews on the 21 and was curious on members thoughts before I purchased. The price on the 21 is $140 CAD so there are a lot of decent single malts I can get for that price...so is the 21 worth a try?

I have tasted the Poit Dhubh 12 and 21 year old, the 12 was ok and the 21s maturity made it better but both don't offer much more than a load of toffee notes for me, there are some very good single malts and blends for the price you would pay for the Poit Dhubh 21 and personally I would not recommend it, the Poit Dhubh 12 isnt too bad a price for what you get.

I have had the Poit Dhubh 12, toffee and a bit of sherry and a nice touch of peat smoke is what I can recall from my experience of it, It is unlikely I will buy again but I don't regret it 80/100
