Have a line on these and was wondering what one I should consider given the price point. Big fan of talisker 18 so wondering how the L18 compares to it. Otherwise is the TW similar to the quarter cask as an option?

| I was disappointed in the Triple Wood which was bought for me as a gift but have heard very good things about the Laphroaig 18 |

Thanks. I wonder how L18 compares to Talisker 18 which is probably my favorite dram. |

Thanks. I wonder how L18 compares to Talisker 18 which is probably my favorite dram. | Quality wise I think it would be up there with the Talisker 18 but a quite different style of peaty whisky. |

If you like the Laphroaig smoke then go for the Laphroaig 18 as it is very tame in the Triple Wood.
Compared to the Talisker 18 the Laphroaig 18 is as you would expect, it has an earthier smoke, as Samson mentions they are both different but quality drams in their own styles. |

Laphroaig 18 vs Triple Wood. Laphroaig 18 is in a totally different league, in fact the gap in quality is so vast it's not even worth comparing them.
Laphroaig 18 all the way.
In terms of the Talisker, it's actually more aggressive than the Laphroaig. At 18yo, Laphroaig is much more mellow but still has it's smoke. It's a beautiful whisky. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

The Laphroaig Triple Wood is a very good whisky but underwhelming for what I expect from a Laphroaig, Bookie describes it spot on by saying it is tame.
The Laphroaig 18 however is an outstanding Laphroaig and I would say get a hold of a bottle while you have the chance. |

I’d jump at the 18 seeing as it’s discontinued and the triple wood is still being produced...
Alternatively you could pick up both :D |

Yes - if you can actually get your hands on the 18 do it before they all disappear! |

If you like Laphroaig's Quarter Cask then the Triple Wood is virtually indistinguishable.
I have not found the Laphroaig 18 but it is probably nothing like the overpriced boring smoke of the Talisker 18. |

Interesting. That Talisker is my favorite dram I find it very complex and rewarding. Hope the Laphroaig has the same effect as I really enjoy their lineup too. |
