It is ok, I searched out Williams review which pretty much sums it up http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/oldpulteneynavigator.htm

I rate the OP 12 year old higher and it costs less. Much the same story as with many of the big brands NAS whiskies which are priced slightly higher than the entry level age statement whisky as if the higher price tag will vouch for the NAS whiskys quality in some way.

I was hoping the navigator would be better , my first bottle of the 12 I liked but the last two bottles didn't really do a lot for me, anyone else thing the 12 is better? Many thanks.

I found the 12 better too.

Navigator is good but not great. As far as NAS goes, it's up in the top half of stuff out there. There's a fair bit of spice and some good flavours but I just found it too young, not complex enough and disappointing. I picked it up last year at a Tesco clearance for £25, and for that I was quite happy with it, but there's not way I'd pay full whack for it.

I like Navigator. Not as good as 17 but good.

GFspencer, did you enjoy it more than the 12?

For me the 12 and the Navigator both have there good points, I wouldn't say one is better than the other, just different. The 12 is more zesty and vanilla where the Navigator is more honeyed with some sherry influence too, its 46% strength adds to the pleasure. Both worth a try, both good whiskies for there price IMO.
