Ballantine's has launched a new Single Malt Series of whiskies which comprises of three single malt whiskies found at the heart of the Ballantine's blend. The three new Ballantine's single malts, Glenburgie 15 Year Old, Miltonduff 15 Year Old and Glentauchers 15 Year Old originate from distilleries that whisky drinkers rarely see any original distillery bottlings from as much of their output goes almost exclusively into the Ballantine's blend.

| I have had a couple of excellent indie bottles of Glentauchers in the past so I would be interested in the Glentauchers 15 |

I wouldn't have expected any other strength than 40% as that is what the Ballantines range is now bottled at, a little stronger would have been nice but I will still give them a go.
I have had some excellent Glentauchers from Gordon & MacPhail in the past which were bottled at the slightly higher strength of 43% but I wouldn't claim that is what made them so good, it was more to do with the spirit and the cask it matured in. |

Up until about 2014 Chivas Brothers bottled an excellent range of NCF, cask strength whiskies from most of their distilleries which were labelled Chivas Brothers Cask Strength Edition and were bottled in a 50cl bottle showing distillation and bottling year, I recall bottling's of Glenburgie and Miltonduff but not Glentauchers.
The range was reasonably priced but seemed to pass under most peoples radar, I think it was the 50cl bottle size which put people off, pity as it was a cracking range.
The new Ballantine's Single Malt Series are not too bad a price and hopefully they have bottled some good quality expressions from Glenburgie, Miltonduff and Glentauchers _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

I had a few of the Chivas Brothers Cask Strength Editions, including a few Glenlivet around 17 and 18 years old, I think the range did go unnoticed by most.
Good to see these 3 new single malts available to the mass market, I guess they have been bottled under the Ballatines name as it is recognisable name to the mass market |
