Apologies for such a basic question. I have been drinking malt, neat, for around 30 years. However, I have just recently bought 2 bottles of Aberlour A'Bunadh with an abv of just over 60%. I have read that a few drops of water will open this whisky up & make it far more approachable. There are some incredible flavours when I drink it neat, but it really is exceptionally strong & I can only take the smallest of sips! My question is how much water would people recommend for a whisky of this strength? It's Batch 61, if that makes any difference?
Thanks in advance.
(p.s: they were only £30 a bottle, so I felt obliged to buy!). |

It really is up to the individual but the good thing about high abv is that you can experiment.
I would personally try a few drops at a time and note the differences and by a process of elimination you will find the sweet spot that suits your palate. _________________ Pour me a glass please. |
