Nadurra First Fill NAS better than Nadurra 16?

I may take some hate for this, but does anyone else think Nadurra First Fill NAS is better than Nadurra 16?

I recently bought a bottle of Nadurra 16. At first I was underwhelmed, but as I continued to drink the bottle I enjoyed it more. It benefits from some water and a few minutes in open air.

I've read a lot of complaints about Nadurra First Fill NAS, some from people who admit to never trying it but resent the NAS.

Today I bought a bottle of First Fill NAS, because I felt compelled to try it head-to-head with Nadurra 16.

In my mind they are two entirely different whiskys. There are similarities, but they are different enough that I can't consider them the same whisky. Nadurra 16 has a much more complex, powerful nose, but I enjoy the taste and finish of Nadurra First Fill NAS more. It's smoother, lighter, more floral. That's kind of what I go for in a whisky like this.

I am wondering if anyone else feels the same way, or if I am going to get banned from the site for this post?

I consider myself a student of Scottish whisky. I've been trying to nail down the taste of oak aged scotch. I'm planning to buy a bottle of Balvenie Single Barrel 12 sometime in the near future.

They are 2 different whiskies and IMO both very good whiskies, I probably preferred the Nadurra 16 but I cant fault the First Fill at all it is what it is supposed to be. Sad that the Nadurra 16 was discontinued.

I agree with Marks comment really.

I loved the 16 and accidentally bought a first fill without looking too hard in Waitrose. Very much enjoyed it and different but the same if that makes sense.

One of those ones where I do miss the 16 but the the three or four bottles of first fill I have had since they stopped the 16 have been good enough for me to continue buying their product, even though it is nas!

Always thought a head to head would be interesting..
