The Dalwhinnie Distillery has marked Lizzie Stewart, Scotland’s first female operator in Malt Distilling, retirement with the launch of the Dalwhinnie Lizzie's Dram, distillery exclusive limited release.

Bottled at 48% ABV, it is a limited edition release of 7,500 bottles and will only be available exclusively to visitors to the Dalwhinnie distillery.

I have to say I really cant fault the Dalwhinnie Winters Gold especially when picked up on offer for around £25. The 48% ABV for Lizzies Dram does make it appealing to me but unfortunately I wont be visiting Dalwhinnie in the near future so I am unlikely to taste it.

I don't get the negativity without tasting it, I would love the chance to taste a new expression of the Dalwhinnie which we rarely see anything new or different from.

I got a little more info on the Dalwhinnie Lizzie's Dram, it was matured entirely in refill bourbon casks which were selected by the team at the distillery, it is bottled at 48% ABV and will be limited edition release of 7,500 bottles, it will only be available exclusively to visitors to the Dalwhinnie distillery from mid-Spring 2018. The price hasn't been revealed yet but I will update you when I hear.
