Just got an email announcing Highland Parks next ballot, this time up for grabs is Highland Park Hillhead which will be the 5th and final edition in the HP Keystones series.

Quote:
For HILLHEAD, Gordon selected three first-fill casks – sherry seasoned European oak, sherry seasoned American oak and ex-bourbon American oak – to highlight the impact of harmonization on our intensely balanced whisky. Bottled at 46%, HILLHEAD’S long finish and fully rounded flavour carries notes of creamy vanilla, fresh coconut and lemon zest, expertly balanced with waves of heather honey and a light, spicy smokiness.

£75 a bottle, I have put my name into the hat for the draw.

Well, here we go again. Will it be happy face @ 1/5 or sad panda @ 5/5.
Surely I can't miss out 5 times in a row?

I now have my wife signed up to Highland Park which doubles my chances of getting to taste it, I hope that's not cheating

My son has been more successful than me with these ballots but I will try again, as long as one of us gets a bottle I get to taste it.

I would love to get a chance to be in these ballots but it occurs to me if you need to have a ballot for your member only releases wouldn't it be better all round to increase the size of the releases and if any go unsold I am sure you could ballot HP members for the chance of a second bottle.

Unsuccessful, Booo!

So that's one out of the five for me although I was only in it for four ballots. Never mind I'm going to Aberdeen this weekend and I'm going to squeeze in a visit to the Glen Garioch Distillery which will surely ease the pain.

This was their official reply when I nitched on Twitter at them over Yesnaby

"Sorry you were unlucky in the ballot, we planned and produced the Keystone series a considerable time ago, and it was only when they were released that demand grew with each release. We have tried to release a number of different editions this year to compensate."
