| I've heard people talk good things about this whisky but I've always passed it by, why? Well I'm mainly speyside fruity and also like my sherried whisky, well over the last year I've tried a few peaty smokey whiskies so not afraid to try now and then but my question is will the quarter cask be too much for me? RL . |

| Have you tried any Laphroaig yet, if so did you enjoy it, if you did you should like the Quarter Cask. |

| Tasted the 10 in a pub 5 years back but the glass was a tumbler so not fair to comment, I've tried mainly lightly peated whiskies, peated whiskies are slightly growing on me thow. |

If you think you will like Laphroaigs medicinal style of peat smoke you will love the Quarter Cask, it is young probably around 5 - 6 years old but that adds to the pleasure for this style of whisky IMO.
If you are unsure and don't mind spending a bit more and seeing you enjoy sherried whiskies the Laphroaig PX Cask is superb and contains some quarter cask whisky. |

It's a great whisky, but only if you like a lot of peat/iodine.
It's not dissimilar to the Laphroaig 10, so you could always try a shot of Laphroaig 10 for a few quid in a pub to check whether or not you like the style. |

| I personally think the quarter cask is a superior dram to the 10. You have to remember, it matures much more quickly due to the smaller casks and the fact that it’s young means it keeps its super peaty punch. |
