Around 6 or 7 months ago I was invited to Dubai for a rather special dinner in honour of Richard Patterson's 50 years with Dalmore. It was held in the Burj Khalifa on 122nd floor.
What an evening it was, we tried the Dalmore Quintessence to start and then got to try 4 of the Constellation range and the evening was finished when we were presented with a 7ml sample of the Dalmore 50 that had just been released and came with a hefty price tag of £50,000 for the full bottle making the 7ml sample £500. Was is worth it?, of course not but...
The dram itself was superb and each dram we had Richard gave us his thoughts which as anybody knows is entertainment in itself.
I was sat next to Richard for the dinner and had the pleasure of his company for the evening and at the end of the dinner he gave me an extra sample of the 50 year old to take away.
Well tonight my wife and I are going out for dinner and I shall enjoy the Dalmore 50 on my 50th.
Cheers to everybody on the site and thanks to Mr Patterson for the gesture |

All the best to you and many returns of the day which I dare say you will be having. Cheers.

You know you are getting old when whisky the same age as you costs £50,000 a bottle. I hope you had a great night. Slainte _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
