|
|
Hi I'm about to have my first son and is really like to buy a bottle of whisky to keep safe until he'll 18 (or maybe his 30th 😂).
With all the other baby expenses I don't have a huge budget but I'd really value any suggestions people have. |

Matt I would suggest you look out for a limited edition that has been bottled this year, you probably will have a much larger choice if you are based in the UK. Perhaps a Glendronach single cask whisky.
Congratulations for when your son arrives. |

| Keep an eye out in about 8 years time onwards for a few vintages, who knows you might get lucky and get a single cask with the exact distillation date. |

| Might be a daft question but will ALL bottled whisky keep indefinitely? |

The suggestion made earlier for something bottled around the time of the birth is a good one, I would look for a good independent bottling rather than anything mainstream like Macallan or Glenmorangie, the last thing you want your son doing is opening that special bottle and realising it is not very good.
Don`t rush it do some research but it will depend on your budget but IB generally offer better value and variety.
Mu son Andrew is 18 this year and I got him a bottle of Glen Andrew, its not special or anything but I couldn't help myself with that label on it; _________________ Pour me a glass please. |
