Hi, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a very good but reasonably priced 25year old malt? They all seem to be over the £300 mark! I want a bottle to give to my husband for our silver wedding anniversary but cannot find a bottle in my price range! His favourite whisky is Glenlivet 18 yo or AnCnoc 21year old, so I had thought a 25 year old bottle of either would be perfect. He doesn’t like peaty/Islay whisky! Any recommendations would be most appreciated, thank you

A few 25 year olds I would recommend are:

Glen Moray 25 Year Old 1988 Port Cask Finish https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/glen-moray/glen-moray-25-year-old-1988-whisky/

Tullibardine 25 https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/tullibardine/tullibardine-25-year-old-whisky/

Glenfarclas 25 https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/glenfarclas-25-year-old-whisky/

Thank you for you suggestions, may possibly stretch the budget to £250 but think I am leaning towards the Glen Moray, if I can’t find the Glenlivet 25 year old. Again your help most appreciated

The Glenlivet 25 year old is an outstanding whisky and I can highly recommend it and you will currently find it for £234.75 at Amazon see here: https://amzn.to/2mwqLh4

Tullibardine 25 is great. Brilliant overall package that feels way more expensive.
I would have preferred this to others mentioned.

I haven’t actually heard of it before but if you recommend it I will think about it too, thanks. I’m afraid I don’t drink whisky at all!

Costco UK has Glenfarclas 25yo at just £100. You don't need to be a member to buy online

Glenfarclas 25 would be a perfect bottle and I’d generally £125 ish if you can’t get it at the £100 as stated.. another great one at the top of your budget would be Glengoyne 25 at £240..
You could also look at an indi bottling but this can be a mine field if you don’t know what to look for..
I would plump for the Glenfarclas 👍

Thanks for the advice, between Glenfarclas and Glen Moray at the moment as I just feel his preferred tipple of Glenlivet is just too expensive although his friend said that the Glenlivet 18 yo is superb, possibly the best yet so big decisions to be made before next Monday! Regards

The Glenlivet 25 is good but the price is crazy, having said that the Amazon price mentioned above is quite a bit less than you will find it elsewhere.

For the price the Glenfarclas 25 is a good buy.
