Can anyone please tell me what the difference is between the Bowmore 25 year old and the Bowmore 25 year old Small Batch?
Which came first?
Many thanks.
I believe the Bowmore 25 year old came before the Bowmore 25 year old Small Batch Release but AFAIK they are both the same whisky, with the small batch being a repackaged 25 year old presented in a new bottle and box with the fact that it is a small batch release emphasised on the packaging.
They may have tweaked the recipe for what goes into the 25 over the years but I don't recall any official announcement of this, also by there very nature such a small batch of single malt is bound to vary slightly in its taste profile from year to year.
