Two of my friends are having babies soon and I would like to give them a bottle of whisky each as a sort of investment

I know the obvs like macallan etc but does any one have a isn’t ideas of a couple of bottles I could get that wouldn’t break the bank but you see as a good investment

Thanks in advance

If you can find the Talisker 8 Year Old Special Release 2018 anywhere I think this would make a good gift/investment, it is difficult to get hold of though.

Glenmorangie usually launch a new private edition bottling early every year, they can sometimes turn out to. be sought after and collectable but always very drinkable. Perhaps worth looking out for if it is launched in time for the new arrivals

That's a lovely suggestion if you can make it work!

I phoned Glenfiddich on the day of my daughters birth and they handfilled a bottle for me. They filled and dated the bottle and even gave me time to make a decision about her name to put that on the label! I’m sure your friend would love that gesture!

Hand bottling sounds like a really good idea too as I stay close to a few distilleries that I know do hand bottling as I have done it before just never thought about it as a gift 👍🏻
