| If you like Highland Park you could pick up a bottle of the 18 year old travel edition which is bottled at the higher strength of 46% or another travel retail offering I would recommend is the Chivas Regal 18 Ultimate Cask Collection First Fill French Oak |

For drinking, regularly see Glenmorangie Signet £118, Glenfiddich 21 rum cask £119. Jura 21 is discontinued and seen priced around £100, not sure if good deal.. The Glenmorangie 19 is good, had a taster of this, really good it's on my wish list. Glenfiddich Vintage Cask Peated is travel only and good, I've got a bottle of this opened. Highland Park 18 will be top tasting around £100.
Depends where you fly from to what they'll have on the shelf. Different travel retailers at Gatwick and Heathrow compared to Luton and City airport. |

| Thanks James, Dave. Recently bought Glenmorangie Signet during Christmas offers, and also had Glenmorangie 19 last year. Both highland park 18 and Glenfiddich 21 rum cask look interesting. Any view on Dalmore King Alexander III? The reviews.seem to be good. |

| Yeah, Id go for the Dalmore King Alexander III. Not tasted it though, but reviews suggest you'll be get a top whisky. Not got a photo on my phone but from memory, sure it was around £150 mark. I usually go around taking loads of photos in duty free, then seeing if can get cheaper elsewhere. Not always a good deal to be had. Avoid Talisker Neist Point, get it much cheaper elsewhere, good dram by all accounts. |

Alexander III is no doubt good, the taste is amazing and you can feel the age of its components despite it being a NAS.
It's by far the best Dalmore I've tried, BUT that 40% really kills it. I'm truly not being a snob: the finish is very lacking, especially for that type of sherry flavor that you want to stick with you for a long while. It it was even at just 46%, this would be an insane dram.
For that money, I'd rather go for something punchier - and preferably non-chill filtered, while we're at it, Alex III does feel a bit watery, though it's difficult to say whether it's because of CF or excessive dilution. |

| Actually any of the aultmore range I’d be looking at too. Fairly easy to get now but I believe they are 1L and priced well. |

I ended up buying the Balvenie Madeira Cask 21 YO, priced at £140 - and the 5% discount using the Dufry app suggested by Dave H.
There was also Craigellachie 17 Year Old Exceptional Cask Series available at £250 mark, which was quite interesting but outside my price range.
However, the real jackpot was on my return flight from Dubai - where I managed to get the Daftmill inaugural release bottle, long on my wishlist!!
thanks everyone for your help. |

Nice choice! I have 2 bottles of the Balvenie 21 Madeira, quality dram!
Think it's pretty tough one to find as well. As not stocked everywhere.
Good hunting in Dubai too!
Im through Edinburgh airport weekly at moment... always see whats new in... rarely see that Balvenie stocked. |

| Macallan Concept hit the shelves of Edinbugh at £100, think there is a bit if hysteria over it at present, but reviews are average. |
