Always nice to see a new whisky event on the whisky calendar. The Whisky Show 2009 is on the 6-7th November 2009 at the Guildhall, London and is being run in partnership with The Whisky Exchange.

This is what the website says about it:
Quote:
LUXURY TASTING EVENT

Fine Single Malt Whisky
Special Bottlings & Single Casks
Whiskies of the World
Traditional Scottish Food

Presenting great whisky to serious whisky-lovers in a comfortable, relaxed and fun environment, The Whisky Show will be a refreshing and distinctively different event dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of the finest whiskies.
You will find more info via The Whisky Exchange website.

This does look like a good event, standard ticket is £100 but i would guess well worth the price.

You beat me to posting about this Finlay. Anyway it does look like a great event although it will cost a few pound more than your average whisky event it does offer you the chance to taste some more expensive premium malts which you wouldnt get the chance to try at other events.

You can read a bit more about it here:
www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/the-whisky-show-2009.pdf

or you can visit the official Whisky Show 2009 website here:

A luxury tasting event, this really does sound good, i will have to see if my wife fancies a weekend down in London as this one sounds too good to miss.

The ticket price is a bit hefty at first glance, but when you think it is only premium whisky, no voucher system, some good food and its location this is a pretty good price.

Another decent whisky event is always welcome but could be pricey for me with tickets, hotel and flight down to London, i will have to look into it and see if if it is worth going.

The Whisky Show has just got even better!

They are now offering a Free Ultra-Premium Dram for all visitors to the show!!
They are now be offering a very special treat for everyone coming to The Whisky Show 2009! When you arrive at the Show you'll be given a special token entitling you to one sample from The Whisky Show's Ultra-Premium Drams, a selection of out-of-this world whiskies worth up to £3750:

They've teamed up with the exhibitors at this year's Show to offer a fabulous treat for all the Visitors. When you arrive at the Show you'll be given a token entitling you to one sample from our Ultra Premium Drams: a selection of some of the finest (and most expensive) whiskies on the planet.

Your token is valid for one Dram from the collection, and stocks of each whisky are understandably limited, so you'll need to show up early and make a beeline to the stands if you want to be sure of getting your first choice! This is a chance to taste a truly out-of-this-world whisky - take your pick from the mouth-watering list below:

Dalmore 40yo
Glenfarclas 50yo TWE Exclusive
Glenglassaugh 40yo
Glengoyne 40yo
Hankey Bannister 40yo
Hibiki 30yo
Highland Park 40yo
Springbank 40yo Chieftain's Choice
Whyte & Mackay 40yo

This is the confirmed line-up so far, but there's more to come! Keep checking the Whisky Show site http://www.thewhiskyshow.com/2009 for an updated list on The Whisky Show's Ultra-Premium Dram.

The offer of a Free Ultra-Premium Dram has swayed me, it makes the ticket price very worth while, looks like a weekend break in London for me.

I agree this really does look like a great event to try some whiskies you would not normally get a chance to try without buying, a great idea.

Just thought i would update date the post as i had got an email from theWhisky Show.

"the Rare Malts Masterclass tasting is now sold out but we do still have admission tickets available for both days and tickets for the other Masterclasses.

If you are considering attending and have not yet purchased your ticket, may I urge you to do so in the next few days so that we can adequately cater for the correct number of meals. Please remember everyone is guaranteed an "Ultra Premium" expression but note, tickets cannot be purchased at the door."
