Hiya,

Although I enjoy drinking Whisky every other week, my knowledge is somewhat limited. I obtained the below bottle of Glenfiddich over a decade ago now being adviced that there is something particularly interesting about this single malt whisky and that the longer I keep hold of it, it will rise in value.

The only real aspect I know is that this triangular bottle comes in the older cylindrical case whereas the modern cases are also triangular to reduce bottle movement.

I'm hoping I can find more information and/or guidance including any estimated value.

Best Regards,
Tim

Don't think you would get much over £30 at auction.

Saying Pure Malt on the label and being bottled with no age statement certainly makes it interesting but I dont think it fetches a great deal at auction, I would say open it and enjoy it, perhaps compare it to the current 12 year old.

I imagined keeping this in storage, not taking to auction any time soon, I was just curious of its current value. My understanding is that the longer it is left the greater it's value be comes, and if this is the case, would it not make a good investment for the future or am I very much mistaken?

Here is an example of a bottle which recently sold at auction https://www.scotchwhiskyauctions.com/auctions/133_the-94th-auction-/278787_glenfiddich-pure-malt/

I think you would need to hold onto this for a lot of years and the packaging would need to be perfect if it was to make much more than £25

Drink it, like people have said, you need to be 18 and sell it when your 65 to make a profit
