Glendalough 13 mizunara finish. Outstanding Irish and very unique in flavour. Not cheap or common but should be readily available for now. One of my favourite samples at whiskey live last year.

You say "good Irish single malts" but the Green Spot you mention is a Irish single pot still whiskey, therefore I would highly recommend looking at the Redbreast 12 year old and indeed the rest of the Redbreast range. Also check out Powers Johns Lane 12 year old single pot still.

Teeling Single Malt is worth checking out.

I have just recently started trying the odd bottle of Irish Whisky. Writers Tears, Redbreast 12, Bushmills 10 etc. I have to say, for the money, Bushmills 10 has been hard to beat. £25 at the minute too. Think I paid £21 just before Xmas. Staggering value.

One for the future to watch will be the developments coming out of Waterford.
