|
|
Hello everyone.
I'm looking for presents to get my grandad for his 90th birthday later this year. He always enjoyed a good single malt so I'm thinking of getting him 90 years worth of the stuff. The idea is to get a selection of bottles whose age adds up to 90, e.g. 5 bottles of 18yo, 3 of 30, etc. Unfortunately I've never really developed a taste for the stuff so have no idea what to get.
I'm hoping some kind person more knowledgable than me can offer some advise and point me towards some interesting bottles.
Budget is OK but unfortunately not unlimited.
Many thanks for any help you can offer. |

| A great idea to combine the whiskies to make up 90 years and all the more for your granddad to enjoy. Do you know if he enjoys any specific whisky brands or styles of whisky such as smoky, sherried etc as it would help to direct you to something he would particularly enjoy. |

| I know he prefers Speyside whisky. I also know he doesn't drink Speyside exclusively. Not sure about specific brands I've seen plenty of different bottles in hiss drinks cabinet at various times. |

Highlands eg Balblair 18
Islands eg Highland Park 18
Speyside eg Glenfiddich 18
Islay eg Bowmore 18
Lowland eg Auchentoshan 18
Blend eg Chivas Regal 18
Campbletown eg Glen Scotia 18
Good options when searching for 18 year old whisky.
I'd favour 30s if youve got the cash. Single grains are cheaper but still excellent choice for a gift. Get the Balvenie (Ive got a couple) and offset cost with a 30 single grain.
Balvenie 30
Tomatin 30
Choices of single grain which are all good, Cambus, North British, Invergordon currently available.
Search a online whisky shop by age for availability. |

| Might be to late for suggestions but glenfarclas fits the bill and are not silly money (in comparison) generally they do a 17 18 25 and 30 which adds up to the magic 90 |
