Glendronach single cask batch 17 has finally been announced!
I've seen a photo on Instagram and it looks like there are 12 single casks ranging from 1990 to 2007... |

I have been on a summer break and a have a few whisky news updates to post, the Glendronach single cask batch 17 being one of them.
Having a quick look at the info I have received, there are 14 single cask bottlings in batch 17, 7 single cask (7905, 221, 847, 5976, 325, 887, 6769) will be available in Europe the other 7 (2623, 113, 5896, 416, 3040, 3343, 3359) will be available in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. As Greg said all ranging from 1990 to 2007.
I will post details in the news section tomorrow. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| Does anyone know when these are available to buy from the distillery shop. I'm up that way for work on monday and might pop in and have a gander for a purchase. |

| I never have any luck with single cask releases - all I get is press info with no release date, I check shops for a while with no results, it soon gets boring as there's no way to know when they're available, and then next thing I know they're all gone! |

As far as predicting when they will be available from the whisky shops I cant say all I know is they will be available this month and it is down to the individual retailers if and when they list them but they should be available from the likes of Master of Malt and TheWhiskyExchange at some point, just keep a look out. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Many thanks for the reply. I ended up over Fochabers way today so made a small detour by the distillery. And you are 100% correct, they are available for sale at the visitor centre. Funnily enough 4 casks are already sold out. Found that strange. I however bought one of each from the remaining casks and a handfilled that was on offer too. |

What kind of cask was the fill your own, and how much? |

The handfill was a 25 year old sherry puncheon at £265. |

| Only three single casks from the Batch 17 were still available yesterday, all for the European market. Some of the single casks sold out on Friday and most of the non-European market single casks sold out Sat/early Sun. The distillery shop had 24 bottles of the oldest vintages and 30 bottles of the younger ones. |

I hadn't heard of the Grand Whisky Auction until now but looking at where they are based in Invergordon it isn't too far a trip to the distillery for them or anyone local to have picked up a set.
It also wouldn't surprise me if it is a whisky shop or shop employee selling it, if I was a minimum wage shop worker I would grab a chance like this to make money while I could. |
