I’m new to the forum. Also looking to get into scotch collecting as a hobby but also hoping my bottles maintain and perhaps increase in value . It’s a hobby first so not terribly concerned if it doesn’t appreciate much.
I see opinions all over the map online. Some say only the >$10k bottles are investable and others say cherry picking limited runs that are cheaper can yield good appreciation.
What do you guys think? Do I have to buy a $10k bottle to see appreciation or could the right $150 dollar bottle see appreciation as well? I’m staring at my Kilchoman Sauternes wondering if it’s reasonable to think that some day it would be worth more than today . Either way it’s freaking delicious so I can’t lose ...only wondering to what degree I can win if that makes sense
