HI
Is this bottle a Macallan 1967 Italian Giovinetti Import?

Hi
Thanks for your reply
There is no indication that it is imported, it says distilled and bottled by Macallan in Scotland.
Also Produce of Scotland
Thanks |

i would recommend contacting Bonhams auction in Edinburgh or McTears auctioneers in Glasgow, they both specialise in whisky and hold a couple of whisky auctions a year.
They will know the current market and estimated value better than i could tell you and they are usually quite helpful, they both have a website which you can contact them through.
Another option is The Whisky Exchange who also buy whisky as well as selling it.
Here is the link to Bonhams:
http://www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r?sContinent=EUR&screen=Whisky
Bonhams offers free and confidential valuations with a view to selling.
Contact Martin Green whisky[at]bonhams.com If you send them detailed info and images they may be able to advise you on a value for your whisky.

Hi
Alastairs post was very good advice Bonhams and Mctears are very reputable companies who have experts on the current whisky market who would be able to value your bottle. People are reluctant to state a price as they would not want to say they think it is worth £200 and you sell it and then find out it was worth £800.
If you look in The Whisky Exchange you will get an idea of how much a 18 year old Macallan is worth approx but remember the price you see there is a shop price, so in a private sale you may expect to get half that amount. At present TWE has a 1966 18 year old for £650 so your bottle if in good condition including label and packaging may be worth approx £500 but like others i am not an expert on the price of whisky for every brand and every vintage all i can say is Macallan is very popular and collectable and usually fetches a good price compared to other brand and similar age whisky.
You can also contact The Whisky Exchange as they buy whisky such as the bottle you have.

I am very grateful to the people who have replied.
I am however very disappointed with the response received over 180 people have looked at this and hardly any responses. I fully admit I know nothing about this subject and thought I was in the right place to get some help /advice including an idea of value. I am pursuing the suggestion already made and hope to receive more info from these.
Can anyone help I want to sell this item. obviously for the right price
Thank you |
