Whisky Forum - Best tasting?

Evening all,

Iâ€™m looking to buy a bottle for an important birthday present, but stumped on what to get. The person isnâ€™t a fan of smoke or peat, and I really want to get the best tasting whisky I can... I know itâ€™s all subjective stuff, but any opinions on your best tasting ( non peated ) bottles? Budget here is up to Â£150.

Hi, heâ€™s a fan of the Midleton Very Rare, likes more fruity tones, also his favourite recently was a 25yr old Bowmore. Found the same bottle recently, but it was suffering from the 80â€™s palma violet twang!
