Wow, how many ballots?
Everytime something really interesting comes up you now have to enter a ballot.
Is this a good or bad thing? I appreciate this might be a fairer way of gIving more individuals the chance, but I feel my chances are lowered of getting something this way.
I keep my ear to the ground like we all do here. I look at the usual websites on the look out when certain releases come out. For instance, I believe the Hazelburn sherry cask will be out tomorrow, and these are great value, and I fancy my chances of getting one (granted they release a few thousand ).
Just feel any control I did have has gone. |

| I don't like them, probably because I have not had much success with anything I particularly wanted. |

I haven't had any success. You enter, time goes by, you hear nothing, you forget about it and on to the next one and repeat. |

| I prefer them to sitting around all day hoping something appears only to then try to check out and the item's out of stock before I can pay, which happened again today. |

Was actually Four Roses, I went out and came home to see I'd miss the Campbeltown lot... |

I never enter ballots, the lucky ones sometimes just flip them anyway as they know others missed out.
It is just another process that adds to the general inflation of whisky prices IMHO. _________________ Pour me a glass please. |

I’m not too convinced with the whole ballot thing, although I just entered my first. I don’t mind monitoring and refreshing the webpage a few times a day and waiting it out, kind of fun for me. |

Well. I missed out on the whole of the BTAC collection via MOM. Five separate ballots. They had 65 ish George T Stagg and same for William Larue Weller. A lot less of the other 3. I did manage to get a Hazelburn. Just. Shocked at the demand of the Springbank releases, they used to hang around on certain websites for weeks.
The Springbank stuff is excellent value for age stated quality whisky. Probably why everyone wants them so much. Not sure they are flippers whisky tho, so why the frenzy? Is it genuine punters joining the rat race? |

I do agree that the Campbeltowns' luckily aren't that collectable luckily, just proper, good value whisky. If anyone is still looking for the Hazelburn, there was still some available here. One bottle each, for drinking purposes only:

| I’ve somehow won the latest macallan ballot. Didn’t think I would as I’ve been unlucky if late but managed to get it 🤷ðŸ½â€â™‚ï¸ |

Considering the number of successful ballots here I'd say there may be a fair few bottles... |
