Looking for a bottle of Scotch single blend whisky on the date of 4th December 1988, mostly looking for a well known brand but will settle for a less know brand.

My advice is to keep actively searching 1988 single casks(new releases and auction sites) for a result. It may happen, but I would be amazed if you ge a result due to this post.

Very few distilleries will give dates on standard bottlings it is only the single casks they start to give more info.
I would say phone a few distillery shops and ask them directly, they are more likely to know... |
