Kilchoman has released their first limited release of 2022, a heavily peated single malt which was fully matured in Madeira hogsheads casks for 5 years and 3 months.
I had the pleasure of tasting it, you can read my thoughts here:

£70 for a 5 year whisky seems a pretty steep for me, even in these days of inflated prices? _________________ Pour me a glass please. |

That is the point, at £70 i don't want to taste it because there are other whiskies that offer much better value. The reviews so far seem pretty mixed, some like the Madeira cask but others say it is harsh and the balance is not there.
All that really matters on a personal leve,l is whether you actually think it is worth it and then hopefully your faith is rewarded, you will have to update as it will be interesting.to hear your views.

| I was drinking the Kilchoman Release Madeira Cask Matured over the Easter holidays and I thought it was very good, absolutely agree with your review of it William. |
