|
|
I've been using my wine cooler to store my Whiskies. It has controlled temp, which I keep at 18ºC. I removed the shelves, so I can keep the bottle upright. It also has the front glass with UV protective film.
I just think it is a good idea and wanted to share.
Anyone else also using one to store Whisky? |

| I dont like to chill my whisky at all and prefer it at room temperature, but if i lived in a warm climate your adapted wine cooler idea would be worth considering, cheers |

Yes, temperature here can get up to 40ºC on summer, which would leave your room temperature at 30+, and you cant just leave the air conditioner on all day for your whisky.
On winter, room temperature can go from 16 to 24ºC, so I think keeping it at 18ºC is a good spot, since it warms a little after serving it on glass. |

| The wine cooler is certainly a good idea in those temperatures. |

From what temperature variation would you advise to consider buying a whisky cooler?
In my house temperatures can vary from 10°C to 30°C and I have never considered buying one before but now I'm considering. |

I am not an expert and dont know exactly the negative impact those temperatures changes would have on your whisky, but I am sure there is some.
But I do know that with a cooler you will be able to drink a fresh whisky any day of the year. I don't think that drinking whisky at room temperature in those 30°C days is a pleasant experience. |
