Jura Origin 10 ( the yellow brown box with the sunsetting on the sea )
and a half bottle of superstition
the origin had boxes that had signs of age and a bit of dust, the superstition had no boxes
anyway, the origin was £38 and the superstition £20
both expensive in comparison to their current range but I was always going to buy the lot
I tried to get a discount due to the boxes but they found 2 more boxes, turned out they were same condition , I just bought all 4 ( I collect whisky and have about 250 bottles, so I had 21each to drink, 1 each to keep , i even once sourced an old origin 10 a couple of years back from an auction and even that has a newer box than the ones that must have been found in the back of coops store room ).
loved the superstition, and origin I think is better then the current core equivalent
popped in today, the other 2 origins are still there but they have taken the boxes away
( was hoping for more superstition ) ;-(
I bet some people would kill for them
anyone know roughly what year they might be ? |

| I've got to be honest I had one sip of the origin and nearly threw up, gave the whole bottle to my pal, the superstition in my view was far superior but hey if u like them then that's all that counts👠|

I know what you mean, but I remember buying a bottle when it was £16, one of my first whiskies, it was different to what I had already tried which was bells and grahams black bottle , ( I couldn't take a 2nd sip of grahams ), have tried Jura journey since and taste cheap and medicinal , just though the origin was better which is what others have said, but not a patch on superstition , im so tempted to open the 2nd half bottle, ( I do have a full bottle in my collection ) |

| Your correct on the Jura journey, very thin and very harsh with no real excitement in it, if you like the Jura then try the 14 which can on offer be as low as £30 and at £25 the winter addition will take you on a lot from the origin and give you more on your taste buds |

| Ok , did you enjoy the fruitiness in this whisky? I was surprised how fruity it was, bordering on speyside ish in a strange way, in today's markets at £30 it's a steal , down side to it is it's a 40% |

yes its very nice and great value
I had 2 doubles and then finished off with what I had left of the Jura 10, it was quite mellow in comparison and still far nicer than the current journey
I might actually do the opposite tonight t and try a few drops of water in it, something I very rarely do
ok I'll only make it 39% |

| Yes I understand your water point, even at 40% you just never know what it will do to the whisky, I always try also , 👠|
