Whisky Forum - Please help me choose a whisky for my dad :)

Hi,

My dad loves whisky, but unfortunately I don't know the first thing about it. I want to get him a very special bottle this Christmas, but I have no idea where to start.

All I know is that he enjoys a smoky whisky, but is open to try any new flavours. Most of his bottles are Scottish single malt.

Here are a few that he has (though I don't know if they're his favourites or not):
- Highlan Park
- Aberfeldy
- Glen Deveron
- Glenmorangie
- Bowmore
- Glen Moray
- Aberfeldy
- Talisker Dark Storm/Skye
- Auchentoshan

This is only a small selection of his collection. Because he has so many, ideally I'd find one that is very obscure/hard to find, especially outside of the UK - that would guarantee he doesn't have it! I live in the UK and he lives in Belgium.

Fantastic offers on the Talisker and Highland Park, I think I will get a bottle of each for myself.

I can second the Highland Park Cask Strength and Talisker 2021 Special Release, both good whiskies and those are very good prices.
