I have just had given an unopened bottle (in its box) of Dimple Whisky. It's wire is fully intact. I have no idea of it's age but I suspect it is over 40 odd years old. It has 74 proof on the neck label.
Simply should I open and enjoy or save it or sell it?
I would be grateful if someone could shed some light on it.
Regards
At the age you say and if it is in good condition it would be considered quite rare and collectable and may be worth £100 - £200. Only you can decide whether to open it or sell it. If you do decide to try sell it i know The Whisky Exchange buy bottles like this so it may be worth contacting them.
Dimple (known as Pinch in North America) has always been a deluxe blended whisky. I havent tried the Dimple of over 40 years ago but i know the Dimple of today is a very good quality blended whisky. Personally i would open it out of curiosity.
