OK, i am a bit slow in posting these but here they are for those who havent heard who the winners yet. Seven whiskies have scooped the titles of "World's Best' in the final round of Whisky Magazine's World Whiskies Awards 2010.
The 2010 winners are:
World's Best Single Malt Whisky
Ardbeg Corryvreckan
World's Best Blended Whisky
Hibiki 21 Years Old
World's Best Blended Malt Whisky
Taketsuru 21 Years Old
World's Best American Whiskey
Rittenhouse Straight Rye 100 proof
World's Best Whisky Liqueur
Wild Turkey American Honey
World's Best Grain Whisky
Greenore 15 Years Old
World's Best New Release
Parker's Heritage Collection Golden Anniversary

I see Japanese whiskies doing well once again, any i have tried where ok but to be honest i wasnt overly impressed with them, i must be trying the wrong ones.

| Mark i am surprised how well the Japanese whiskies have been doing, like you i think they are ok but not world beaters and i find it odd that they seem to be coming out on top at many of the the whisky industry awards. Maybe they should switch the judging panels every year as they seem to have a preference for certain types. I dont really give most awards much merit now. |
