Hi all

I thought i would give these Glenfarclas events a special mention as they should be worth attending if you are heading up to the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival this year. Glenfarclas have just added an extra event Four Glenfarclas Forty Year Olds where you will get a chance to try the new Glenfarclas 40 year old which is due to be released in April. I would imagine that this event will sell out quickly so dont delay if you fancy attending it.

Thursday 29th April 2010 14.00 - 1600
Four Glenfarclas Forty Year Olds
After a tour of the family owned distillery, enjoy a tasting of four Glenfarclas forty year old whiskies with George Grant, Sales Director and sixth generation of the Grant family. The tasting will include the first public tasting of the new Glenfarclas 40 Years Old Expression, the Glenfarclas 40 Years Old Scottish Classic, and two single cask bottlings from The Family Casks collection. As the new Glenfarclas 40 Years Old is only due for release during April 2010, this tasting gives you the opportunity to be amongst the first to taste this exciting new expression from Glenfarclas.
£40.00 per person.

Saturday 1st of May 2010 10.00 - 14.00
Glenfarclas Walk to the Water Source
Enjoy a walk to the Glenfarclas water source, on Ben Rinnes, with Robert Ransom. Where could be better to enjoy a dram? This is a hill walk over rough ground, so bring walking boots, waterproofs, warm clothes and a packed lunch. Weather permitting you should be rewarded with a fantastic view of Speyside. Relax after the walk with tea and shortbread at the distillery visitor centre. Please do not bring dogs.
£6.00 per person.

Saturday 1st May 2010 11.00 -14.00
Glenfarclas Tour & Tasting with Ian McWilliam

£15.00 per person.

Sunday 2nd May 2010 19.00 - 22.00
Glenfarclas Dinner at Craggan Mill Restaurant, Grantown-on-Spey

Graham Harvey and Sheila McConachie, chef/patrons of Craggan Mill, and co-authors of the award winning book The Whisky Kitchen, will present a four course dinner, with each course inspired by an expression of Glenfarclas. To start, the Velout? of Haggis with Glenfarclas 15 Years Old, which featured in Graham's winning menu for the 2007 Spirit of Speyside Chef Competition. Robert Ransom from Glenfarclas will introduce an expression of Glenfarclas to accompany each course.

If the new 40 is as good and is priced in the same way as there 30 year old then i will give it a go as i think there 30 year old is one of the best value malts of this age around. William do you know if it will be a permanent part of the Glenfarclas core range and will it be available this side of the water.
