Another odd question about bottle numbers, I'm afraid...
I have a bottle of Port Ellen 6th release, which has the following wording on the label
Limited Edition Numbered Bottle No. 4662
One of only 4560 bottled in 2006
Does anyone have an explanation for why this is bottle number 4662 out of 4560? |

| That is very odd, the only explanation i could think of is that it is a misprint. |

I agree that is odd, i had a bottle of this and it was one of 4560 but why the actual individual bottle number on your bottle would be wrong and get through whatever quality control there must have been i dont know. Perhaps it makes it more collectable and more valuable |

I had a bottle of this also and would say the 6th release was the best Port Ellen i have had so far. I couldnt imagine how your bottle got a number way above the amount of bottles released, very odd. Where did you buy it it?
Anyway a great dram if you fancy opening it.
