I went to the Glengyle Open Day last year so really looking forward to this:

Masterclasses - We will have one Masterclass with Frank and one with Stuart. Frank with host a Glengyle masterclass at 11.30 am with Stuart's at Springbank at 1.45 pm. The cost will be £5 for each class, and we have left a break between the classes so that you have time to attend both if you wish.
In the Tasting Room - There will be a Cadenhead Tasting down in the tasting room at 3.15 pm with Grant. We have timed this so that those who are doing the Masterclasses won't miss out. Grant has promised to have a nice variety for you, there will be a Cadenhead bottling round about then, so he should have samples available. He has a Banff 32y/o at 47.1%ABV which he has promised to open. The tickets for this will cost £15. I am sure Grant will make this a very enjoyable experience. |

| I wouldnt mind winning a place on the boat they have chartered to go from Troon to Campbeltown but i cant find the competition on the Springbank forum, am i just not looking in the right place. |

| You need to be a member of the Springbank society to post on the new Springbank forum which costs £50 for membership last time i looked. |

I used to be a member of the old Springbank forum but my login doesnt work on the new forum. Your right Brummie you have to be a member of the Springbank Society to post on the forum now, this is what the site says:

Booked my ticket for the bus from Glasgow. Over four hours but a stop at Inveraray for a quick look at Richard's wares and then a lovely drive through some spectacular scenery makes up for the length of the journey.

| That is quite a haul up on the bus but a scenic journey i am sure. When does the bus return, do you have to stay overnight. |

The bus leaves Glasgow at 9am, getting there around 1pm. The return bus is at 5pm, giving just under four hours there. That's enough time to do the afternoon masterclass (a fiver!) and a tour of the distillery, plus some chatting. After the masterclass the journey home is a lot quicker

Calder, i hope you didnt spend too much time working out the comp answer before discovering it will cost £50 to enter it.
If anyone is interested Flybe have a flight to Campbeltown from Glasgow, but i think you are looking at around £80 - £100 return

I sat down with a whisky and calculator to work it out. My answer would have been 73 tonnes. Just thought i would mention it as no one would believe me if i got it correct and said after the comp answer is announced. |

| Cheers John, i definitely wouldnt fancy that on a choppy day, especially after a skinful of Springbank. I am sure it is a nice trip in mid summer, i see it is £80 return in the summer |
