& Co. unveils The Gauldrons Eclipse: A
limited-edition Orange Wine Cask finish.
The Gauldrons Eclipse brings together a
selection of Single Cask Single Malts
sourced exclusively from Campbeltown,
Scotland’s smallest whisky-producing
region. For the first time, the whisky
has undergone a finishing stage in
Orange Wine casks from the historic
cellars of Jerez de la Frontera in
Andalusia, southern Spain. This rare
influence adds a bold, innovative twist
to the brand’s classic character,
blending deep tradition with modern
experimentation.
Bottled at a natural cask strength of
52.9% ABV and free from colouring or
chill filtration, Eclipse stands as a
pure, unaltered reflection of
craftsmanship and Campbeltown’s enduring
mystique. Each bottle is presented on
its own, accompanied by a premium neck
tag featuring a QR code that links to an
exclusive tasting video hosted by
Douglas Laing’s Global Ambassador,
Dougal Barr.
With only 3,000 bottles released
worldwide, this edition is both rare and
highly collectible.
On the nose, they tell me the Eclipse
offers malt, dried apricots, orange peel
and toasted almonds. The palate unfolds
with walnuts, honey, ginger and stone
fruits, leading to a lingering finish of
spice, tangy orange and nutty depths
that bring an almost otherworldly edge.
