The
GlenAllachie distillery announces the
release of Sinteis Part ll, The
GlenAllachie 2015 Scottish Virgin Oak &
Oloroso Sherry Cask.
 The
GlenAllachie Distillery has unveiled the
second release in its Sinteis Series
(pronounced sin-teesh): Sinteis Part II,
a 2015 single malt matured in Scottish
Virgin Oak and Oloroso Sherry casks.
Launched in April 2025, the Sinteis
Series explores a dual-cask philosophy,
marrying the bold character of virgin
oak with the timeless influence of
sherry wood. Bottled at natural cask
strength, Sinteis Part II unites spirit
from rare Scottish virgin oak barrels
with whisky matured in Oloroso sherry
casks, offering a fresh perspective on
the untapped potential of virgin oak
when balanced by the depth of sherry
maturation.
Taking its name from the Scottish Gaelic
word for "synthesis," and carrying the
tagline "Two distinct casks. One
harmonious synthesis", the collection is
the vision of Master Distiller
Billy Walker, who brings more than five
decades of expertise to the project.
This Speyside single malt which has been
bottled at a cask strength of 58.2% ABV
and it is said to
open with aromas of mocha, honeycomb
and ripe berries, layered with cinnamon
butter and toasted lemon peel. The
palate delivers heather honey, bright
citrus and gentle baking spices,
followed by gingersnaps and poached
orchard fruits, leading to a long finish
of mocha and vanilla buttercream.
Presented in striking packaging by
Scottish designer Kayley Barbour,
Sinteis Part II reflects its
wood-forward character. The textured
carton mimics natural grain, while the
central emblem draws inspiration from
Scotland's native oak trees.
Commenting on the new release, Billy
Walker said: "The Sinteis Series is a
celebration of creativity at the very
heart of whisky making, a chance to
explore how different casks, when
thoughtfully combined, can create
something truly remarkable. With Part
II, I was inspired to shine a light on
the character of Scottish virgin oak - a
rare and distinctive choice in
maturation. By pairing its bold
personality with the familiar depth of
Oloroso Sherry casks, I wanted to craft
a whisky that feels both adventurous and
reassuringly timeless.
