Crystal named as a finalist for the
Department for Business and Trade
Exporter of the Year Award in the Lloyds
British Business Excellence Awards 2025.

Scottish crystal specialist Glencairn
Crystal has been named a finalist for
the Department for Business and Trade
Exporter of the Year Award at the 2025
Lloyds British Business Excellence
Awards. This recognition follows the
company’s recent win of the King’s Award
for Innovation, further cementing its
status as a world-class leader in its
field.
Founded over 40 years ago by Raymond
Davidson, Glencairn Crystal has grown
into one of Scotland’s most iconic
exporters. Known for its innovation in
premium decanter and glassware design,
the company is a global leader in
ultra-premium spirit containers and a
pioneer in applying metalware to glass
and crystal.
Glencairn is also the creator of the
world-renowned Glencairn Glass, the
official whisky glass, which celebrates
its 25th anniversary this year. The
company now sells over 5 million units
annually across international markets.
Exports make up nearly 60% of
Glencairn’s business, rising to around
80% when including customer-led
distribution—such as distilleries
shipping Glencairn products worldwide.
The Lloyds British Business Excellence
Awards is the UK’s largest and most
prestigious business awards programme,
celebrating organisations that champion
innovation, sustainability, and
excellence across all sectors. Glencairn
Crystal was previously shortlisted in
2018; its return to the finalist list in
2025 highlights its continued growth and
global impact.
