The
GlenDronach release Batch 10 of its
so far outstanding Cask Strength series.
The
GlenDronach distillery has released the
next instalment in its popular Cask Strength
series, The GlenDronach Cask Strength
Batch 10.
The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 10
offers connoisseurs a deeper insight
into the distillery’s signature
character, by bottling at the whisky’s
natural cask strength, as was the custom
before the turn of the 20th Century.
Batch 10 has been crafted by Master
Blender Rachel Barrie, from a marriage
of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry
casks.
Master Blender, Dr. Rachel Barrie, said:
"The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 10
is incredibly rich and full-bodied, with
the full depth of sherry cask maturation
at its heart. Presented at natural cask
strength, it offers a cornucopia of
flavour, from richly spiced fruitcake to
dark cherry and ginger jam."
The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 10
is bottled at 58.6% ABV, and as is the
case for all The GlenDronach
expressions, develops its deep colour
naturally over time from the Spanish oak
in which it rests. It will be available
to buy from specialist retailers
worldwide from March and in the US from
late Spring.
The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 9
has a RRP of £77 and will be available
to buy from specialist retailers
worldwide from this month and in the US
from late Spring. It is worth noting
that these big sherried cask strength
releases from The GlenDronach tend to
sell out quite quickly (with good
reason) so if you want a bottle don't
hang around too long when you see it
available.
I haven't had the chance to taste this
one yet but I will certainly update you
when I do but if previous batches are
anything to go by this will be worth
getting hold of if you enjoy a cask
strength sherried dram.
You will find The GlenDronach Cask
Strength Batch 10 available from
specialist online whisky retailers such as
The Whisky Exchange
and
The Whisky Shop and
